The George Institute for International Health seeks to improve the health of millions of people worldwide through undertaking high quality research, and applying this research to health policy and practice.

The Institute is a legally independent, not-for-profit institution.

The Institute focuses on activities that can deliver the greatest health improvements where they are most urgently needed, such as in the low and middle-income countries of Asia and in Indigenous populations of Australia.

Through key affiliations around the globe, and collaborations with a network of highly capable organisations that provide regional, national and local expertise and resources, the Institute extends its ability to carry out important health projects.

The Institute has over 300 staff working on projects in over 40 countries with the collaboration of more than 400 hospitals and universities worldwide. The Institute has operations in Australia, China and India.
